Our Background
For over twelve years, we’ve proudly served the residents of Laramie, Wyoming. It’s our goal to beautify our community and make it even more appealing and enjoyable to live in – one home at a time.
Not only can we help beautify homes and neighborhoods around the city, but we also want to help make lawn care easier for our clients. From routine maintenance to smart sprinkler system installation, we can take care of all your landscaping needs.
We offer many landscaping services, including sprinkler system installation, routine maintenance, patio and deck design, outdoor lighting, and more. Our hardworking team members care about their work, and always do their best to make sure the job gets done right, and on time.

Mike Welper - Owner
Brian Welper - General Manager
Hi, I’m Brian. My brother Mikey and I worked together while we were going to school at the University of Wyoming to start this business from the ground up. I would have never thought that what started out as our leaf raking business would be what it is today! My wife Amber and I knew that we wanted to plant roots, raise children, and make our permanent home in this great community and I’m thrilled we made the choice to move back in 2019. I have two wonderful children Wyatt and Olivia who light up my life. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, cheering on the Pokes, fishing, camping, hiking, running – if it’s outside, we love to do it! I am grateful everyday for the amazing team of people I get to work with and all of the wonderful people in our Laradise community. Jessica Johnson
Hi friends! My name is Jessica Johnson and I started working at Tough Guys in 2022 as the Office Lead but I have now transitioned to pursue my photography career full-time! My love for photography started back in 2020 during Covid and since I had a lot of free time, I discovered my passion for photography and now I capture weddings and families! I am so happy to still be a part of the Tough Guys Family as their Photographer & Social Media Manager! I have met so many wonderful people working at Tough Guys and am so happy to have made life-long friends. A couple things about me – I have an amazing husband named Kadyn who also works for Tough Guys, we’ve been married since 2016 and moved to Laramie around our 1 year anniversary, we have the cutest mini schnauzer named Bailey and I love anything outdoors!
Kylie Worthen
Hi my name is Kylie Worthen, I am a senior at the University of Wyoming studying rangeland ecology and watershed management. After graduation I plan on heading to law school. In my free time I enjoy working with the UW Range Club, working with youth in 4-H and FFA, and working with livestock.
Val Dickson
I’m Val, I am the Tough Guys handyman! I am the head mechanic and fleet manager that keeps our crews riding in style. My roots run deep, I have been in Laramie for around 30 years now and have been working with Tough Guys since 2018. When I’m not keeping our crews rolling I love spending time with my family, being outside participating in shooting sports, and every fall you can find me out elk hunting. The crews all enjoy the amazing jerky I make but sometimes I have to try and hide it so I can have some too. I enjoy working with the amazing people here at Tough Guys and making Laramie more beautiful.
Justin Carlton
Hi! I’m Justin, I am the Chemical Technician. I have been in Laramie and have been working for Tough Guys since 2019. I used to work for the Air Force but decided I needed a change of pace from working in front of a computer in a windowless building, and so I began to explore other options. Tough Guys have provided me with a great place to learn and use practical, real-world skills that have helped me to become more self-sufficient in ways that I never would have thought! When I am not helping make sure Laramie is in the best shape possible I enjoy reading, watching documentaries, playing computer games, and enjoying the great outdoor recreation Laramie has to offer!
Miranda Dickson
I’m Miranda! I am a Commercial Sprinkler Tech and Snow Plow driver for Tough Guys. I was born and raised in Laramie and have been working here since 2019. I love the variety of work that we do, no two days are the same, so as a result of that I have learned how to fix a lot of things! Fun fact about me is I actually have a degree in early childhood education. I enjoy spending time outdoors, and going camping with my son, lucky for me there are lots of options close to home to do that!
Conlon Fields
I’m Conlon, I am a sprinkler tech. I have been with Tough Guys since 2021. I love working here because of the comradery between co-workers and being able to smile and enjoy a good laugh while working. There always is a new challenge which provides me the opportunity to solve problems and puzzles! Tough Guys has helped teach me the importance of building and maintaining trust in the company and community. When I am not helping work on sprinkler systems I enjoy cooking with my wife, playing games with friends, and traveling.
Jaryn Johnson
Hi, I’m Jaryn, I am a crew lead both for snow and summer services here at Tough Guys. I am originally from Green River and have been here in Laramie since 2017, and have been working for Tough Guys since 2019. I have greatly enjoyed working here because of all of the great coworkers I have. This position has taught me that hard work really does pay off. In my free time I love listening to music and lifting weights/powerlifting. Fun fact I have 6 Wyoming state powerlifting records!
Ky Hardy-Ritchie
I’m Ky, I am a landscaping foreman. I grew up here in Laramie, and have been working for Tough Guys since 2017. I love the people that I work with! I enjoy seeing the great work that we do in the community and working with our amazing customers. Outside of work I enjoy dirt biking, gaming, camping and spending time outside.
Dominik Swank
I’m Dominik and am the sales consultant here at Tough Guys! I have been working with Tough Guys since 2020 and am excited about everything we do in the community. I love working with our customers and the amazing staff we have, never fails to make you laugh. Working here has broadened my horizons. I’ve learned a lot about sprinklers and landscaping from my time at Tough Guys. I’ve also learned that the friends that you make at work can transcend the workplace, and these people can become closer friends than you ever thought possible. I really enjoy hunting and soccer in my free time. I have two great pets Yue, and Ripley.
Kadyn Johnson
I’m Kadyn, and I am a landscape foreman here at Tough Guys. I grew up in Green River and have been here in Laramie for around 6 years. I started working for Tough Guys in 2021, and I truly enjoy all of the people I work with daily. Working here has helped me to develop leadership skills that I can not wait to further develop! I love sports and cooking. Fun fact my mom was on the Oprah show and there was a video of me playing on the show so technically I was on the Oprah show. I am also fluent in spanish.
Refugio (Roof) Cerenil
Hi, I’m Roof and am a lawn care crew lead! I have been working for Tough Guys since 2020. I really enjoy the people I work with and I enjoy working for a place that recognizes hard work. And I am so glad to work for people that value their employees. I also am known as the Tough Guy’s mascot. I enjoy powerlifting and trying new foods. I am both the world’s tallest little person and the world’s shortest giant!
Jaron Brewer
I’m Jaron, I am one of the sprinkler techs. I have been in Laramie and working for Tough Guys since 2022. I have learned a lot about working as a team in a work environment through Tough Guys. I love all of the friends that I have made while working here. I love to spend a lot of time outside hanging with friends and getting some video games in. I played college baseball in Montana for two years while I got my associates degree in applied sciences and health.
Madison Fields
Hi! I’m Madison and I am one of our handy dandy sprinkler techs. I have been working for Tough Guys since 2022 and have learned a lot from everyone. One of the biggest things I have learned was that the littlest thing can make a big difference in a project. I love being able to rely on my coworkers and feeling satisfied with the work you have put in. I love being outdoors and taking care of plants and animals. I am currently a student at the University of Wyoming studying Agriculture Education with hopes of becoming a teacher after graduation.
Kian Naughton
I’m Kian, I am a lawn care crew lead. I was born and raised here in Laramie and have been working for Tough Guys since 2022. I love playing hockey, skiing, hiking/camping, playing video games and tinkering with electronics. I really enjoy working with great people and being able to learn about the different services we offer around the community.
